Q. How much money can I make?

You make money per successful transaction and balance enquiry for every ATM in your fleet. And if you choose to do events, you also charge a hire fee.

The standard event hire fee for an agent attending a one day event in their local area is $550. Multiple day events, regular events and those further afield will vary.

In the case of event hire fees, you invoice the client directly and you are responsible for ensuring you get paid.

Fixed sites are those ATMs that are at a retail outlet or hospitality venue. Think a petrol station, convenience store or a pub.

The transactions you’ll do at each site will vary depending on the number of people coming through the door to use the ATM. It will also depend on the policy of the store regarding cash payments - some stores offer discounts for cash purchases and this generally pushes up ATM transactions.

You get paid for each successful transaction and balance enquiry you do at all your ATMs during the month.

You get paid for these transactions (which we refer to as rebates) at the beginning of the following month. You are paid your rebates less the service fee for each transaction, rebates paid directly to your customer, modem fee, monthly fee and any other invoices you may have outstanding to us.

Q. What if my ATM is in a venue that is not doing enough transactions to make it profitable?

Your equipment needs to be making you money and if it’s in a venue that is not doing enough transactions you can remove the ATM and relocate it to another opportunity.

We provide Deployment Agreements to you to complete with your fixed customers and one of the clauses in the agreement is that if the ATM is not achieving an average of 450 transactions per month in any rolling three month period we can give notice that we are removing the machine.

Q. What equipment do I need?

On top of the purchase of ATMs, equipment that you’ll need to have on hand includes:

  • Rattle gun
  • Socket set
  • Screwdriver set
  • Cleaning kit and card cleaners
  • Blanket and tie-down straps
  • Trolley
  • Vehicle to transport ATMs (and marquees if doing events)
  • Computer/Phone/Internet

Q. What are the vehicle requirements?

ATMs weigh approx. 90 kg and measure 160 cm (H) x 70 cm (D) x 40 cm (W) so you need to consider a suitable vehicle for equipment of these dimensions and weight.

  • A high-roof van with a tail lifter is ideal for transporting machines upright
  • Machines can also be laid on their back if the dispenser is removed (a 5-minute task). Many SUV's or smaller vans are ideal. We would not recommend a ute with a high tray as the ATMs are too heavy to lift to that height.

Examples of suitable vehicles:

  • Tesla Model Y (fits 2 machines)
  • Mitsubishi Van
  • Pajero
  • Santa Fe

Q. How do I transport an ATM?

  • Machines can be transported upright with the dispenser in place or on their back (if the dispenser is removed)
  • Use tie-downs and a trolley to move them safely

Q. If I put my own money in the ATM where do I get my cash from?

Some local banks still provide cash if ordered in advance (check availability and fees at your local bank). There are security companies that provide cash purchasing services.

Q. If  I have a security company fill the machines how much does it cost?

Below is an indication of prices from one of our local providers in Brisbane.

  • 0-500 transactions: $0.95 + GST (per successful transaction)
  • 501-1500 transactions: $0.85 + GST (per successful transaction)
  • 1501+ transactions: $0.75 + GST (per successful transaction)

Fully cashed sites require a security assessment so make sure you have a site assessed prior to committing to providing a fully funded service.

Q. Is it safe to carry cash?

The less people that know what you are doing the better to reduce your own risk.

We have not had any incidents in our team to date, but we always remind everyone to be super vigilant with their own safety.

Some common sense tips:

  • Avoid carrying more cash than necessary
  • Vary cashing days and routes
  • Avoid vehicle signage
  • Use cassette swaps when possible

We are unable to get insurance for cash in transit from our recommended broker.

Q. What insurance do I need?

A.     Public liability $20Million: approx. $1,000/year

Q. When do I get paid?

Rebates

  • Paid by the 8th of the following month
  • You are paid your rebates less deductions including service fees, modem fees, customer rebates, outstanding invoices, CRM/portal fee

Hire Fees

You invoice clients directly for event or fixed ATM hire fees.

Q. When I use my money in the ATM when do I get that back into my account?

When you put money into an ATM the money that is dispensed between 3pm one day and 3pm the next is deposited back into your account the next business day.

If you put $10,000 into your ATM and $2000 is withdrawn by patrons on Monday, the $2000  will be deposited back into your account the next business day, Tuesday.

I would happily recommend ATM2GO. Moocooboola Festival is a community event organised by Hunter's Hill Council and attracts up to 20,000 visitors throughout the day. I thought the customer service was amazing and the whole team at ATM2GO were a pleasure to deal with!
